Favorite Dress

This summer I started a new job that came with increased salary, level of authority, responsibility and of course, and increase in salary.  Oh, happy day!!  I have grown a lot since being in the new role and learn something new everyday - especially since I knew practically nothing about international logistics & transportation.

So, while out at the mall on some random weekend before I started by new job, my husband saw a dress that he thought I would like and would be a great addition to my wardrobe.  I love dresses but I don't have a lot that aren't summer dressy and office appropriate.

Macy's: Bar III - Old (Similar)

The back of the dress is beautiful with the gold zipper down the back.  It fits great and even though it's more than I would normally spend on a dress, I was able to pick it up for $60 - originally around $80.

Again, had my husband not hand picked it I would have regretted not buying it because it has become a favorite of mine.  I'm ready for the warmer temps to come back because it looks great paired with nude heels like these from Target.  I have almost worn mine to the point of needing new ones.  They are a great buy and go with everything.

I love the peachy/pink/coral color of this dress and have transitioned it to fall/winter easily.   I recently paired the dress with black booties and a black cardigan (worn buttoned as a sweater) and it was beautiful!!

Popsicle Recipe

Happy Friday - the 13th - everyone!! Here's to a great Friday and a great weekend for all of us :) We have a low key weekend planned for ourselves - haircut, pool time and a run for this momma. I'm sure the hubby and I will get to the gym as well and get in at least one workout over the weekend.  Then we have our littlest ones birthday on Monday.  She'll be FIVE?!!!  How did that even happen? Anyway, one thing we are hoping to get planned this weekend is making our own popsicles because we all have a little sweet tooth.  If you want to make your own here's a quick little recipe below. If you need the Hydate - you can find it here .

Training....

Hey y'all!  Summer is officially over and all of the kids are in school!!!  Oh my gosh, no more daycare!!  It's a strange place to be since we've always had at least one or all 3 in daycare for the last (almost) 9 years.... Training..... We are training the kids and have been training the kids to only eat at the kitchen table.  And to leave all electronics somewhere else besides the kitchen table.  Training can be an odd word when used in relation to kids but it's so accurate.  Kids are trained in what to do and how to behave.  No they aren't animals, but they learn by being trained and watching the adults in their lives.  In the past, we've been a little lax and let the kids eat in the living room and occasionally have food in the playroom.  But we've had carpet installed upstairs and we've very recently purchased new living room furniture.  So what better time to train the kids and our selves to only eat at the new kitchen tabl...

Cooler Weather

It appears that I got my wish for cooler temps in Texas.  Even in Houston, it has been fall-like temps thanks to the rain and a nice chill in the air. I am gearing up for a shopping trip and have several items in mind.  Most of the things in mind are for work since that I is were I spend the majority of my time.  My office gets very, very cold in the "winter" months to the point that I am in need of a blanket. I have a sweater that is permanently attached to my chair if I am not wearing it :)  I am also looking at adding a nice warm scent to my office thanks to either a Glade or similar plug-in.  I have discovered that the traditional fall/warm scents have changed a bit since last year and I am having a hard time deciding which I will get.  Another item I will be adding to my office is a shrug or shawl of some variety for the times/days that I am not in sweater mode. And of course, plenty of Starbucks Via Instant Mochas and some random cooki...
