Office Comforts

Thursday's in the office call for slightly more laid back looks and some comfort items.  Things are starting to get even more busy than normal due to our annual conference coming up - Hello Panama (the country) - along with the normal every day duties.

So today's look consisted of:

My blazer is similar to the one pictured above and is also from Banana Republic Outlet, unfortunately it cannot be purchased anymore.  As I said, my items have been in my closet for a while and I find new ways to style and love them again.  Here is a similar shaped blazer from Old Navy.

The chambray shirt is great for layering with a variety of shirts, pants, scarves, shoes, etc.  The chambray shirt above is from Old Navy.  A similar top but super cute with polka dots & here is a lighter colored version.

The black pants are from Old Navy as well and are super comfortable.  I wear them to work with heels pretty often and have even worn them on cool evening with cute white tennis shoes or sandals.

And last but not least by favorite black heels from Target!

A few other goodies that have graced my desk today are sweet tea from Chick-fil-a, Starbucks Instant Mocha and some delicious Andes candies!

Summer Time Old Navy Favorites

Although it should be warm, humid and sunny in south Texas we are currently being drenched in rain for the millionth time.  The last few weeks have been full of rain showers and thunder storms.  Every once in a while the rain will disappear for the afternoon leaving a very muggy and humid afternoon behind.  Other days, the rain makes a lovely afternoon appearance and gets heavier into the evening. With that said, it is mid-May and summer is top of mind when I'm not dreaming of being home cuddled up on the couch with a cup of coffee (read....Starbucks mocha!) :) Here are a few items that I cannot wait to add to my rotation from Old Navy. 1. Hat 2. Sleeveless tank 3. Chiffon Tank 4. Cami Fit & Flare 5. Heeled Sandals

Finished Chalkboard

So I am delayed in getting this posted but the chalkboard was a huge success and the kids were thrilled!  They have played on it a lot and have even invited their friends over to color on the chalkboard with them. So after I applied the layers of chalkboard paint and let them dry, I took a piece of chalk and laid it on its side and "colored" the chalkboard with it.  You are doing this according to the directions to help prime the surface for use. After you color it and let it chill, you then take a damp rag and wipe it off.  Sounds easy enough, right?  Well, it is!  I was nervous about  it not working because I may have some how missed a step along the way...I even googled the directions just in case!! I also added a really cute and perfectly, imperfect burlap boarder to the chalkboard.  I had initially planned out creating a wood boarder for it and painting it to match the colors from the playroom pillows but ultimately decided against it...

Casual Friday

Oh how I love casual Fridays at work.  Wearing jeans and being able to feel a little more comfortable than in my normal work attire - although that is changing :)                 Target: Scarf ( Similar ), Tommy Hilfiger Outlet: Sweater - Old ( Similar ), JCPenney: Jeans , Shoes - Old ( Similar )   One of my favorite stores to shop at is JCPenney.  You will see entire outfits - top to bottom - and everything is from JCPenney.  I grew up shopping there and am always surprised by the items that I can find at great price points.   With that said, I also shop at other store but being a mother of 3 young children, I am very careful about how much I spend and how often I spend it. The jeans I am wearing in the picture are going on two years old but still look, feel and fit great!   And you can see that they didn't cost me an arm and a leg. The navy sweater is from the Tommy Hilfiger Outlet store in B...
