Packing List

So, I am leaving for my business trip/mini vacation to Berlin in less than one month!!  The next few weeks are going to fly by and I still have so much to do.  Not only do I need to finalize what I am going to pack and wear for each day but I also need to plan and send out invitations for our middle daughter's 5th birthday party!  When did she get so big?!

Anyway....one thing at a time.  I have booked my husband's plane ticket and the extra days at the hotel, we are considering it our belated anniversary/his early birthday present :)  We celebrated 10 years of marriage in January and I knew the business trip was coming up so we are celebrating late and early!

So, here are a few of the items that I am planning on taking for the mini vacation part of the trip. Obviously, if I get the shoes below, the colors of the outfits will need to shift a little for a more uniformed, mix and match look.

1. I 'Heart' Ronson   2. Liz Claiborne  3. Liz Claiborne  4. Stylus  Shoes: New Balance

Business Trip

So, I have a business trip coming up in exactly one month.   I will be spending almost a week in beautiful Panama for the conference. Even though I won't have any free time to explore, shop or lounge on the beach I would still like for my look to breath in the tropical atmosphere while looking business professional and flawlessly put together.  Below are some of my favorite looks.  The prices for some of the items are much higher than I would be comfortable spending but believe they would get a lot of use in my work wardrobe. 1. STUDIO Tahari-Levine Co. ,  2. Gloria Vanderbilt ,  3. Fast & Effective ,  4. Public Image ,  5. The White House ,  6. For the People For a portion of the conference I will be on stage as the moderator and feel that it is very important to look my absolute best.  At that point in time I am representing the company I work for in front of about 200 people. What are your travel trips when you h...

Finished Chalkboard

So I am delayed in getting this posted but the chalkboard was a huge success and the kids were thrilled!  They have played on it a lot and have even invited their friends over to color on the chalkboard with them. So after I applied the layers of chalkboard paint and let them dry, I took a piece of chalk and laid it on its side and "colored" the chalkboard with it.  You are doing this according to the directions to help prime the surface for use. After you color it and let it chill, you then take a damp rag and wipe it off.  Sounds easy enough, right?  Well, it is!  I was nervous about  it not working because I may have some how missed a step along the way...I even googled the directions just in case!! I also added a really cute and perfectly, imperfect burlap boarder to the chalkboard.  I had initially planned out creating a wood boarder for it and painting it to match the colors from the playroom pillows but ultimately decided against it...

New House!

So the husband and I are in the middle of purchasing our 3rd house!!  We are very excited and are now just waiting for Friday so that we can close and get the keys. With the waiting game in full swing my mind is drifting to how we are going to furnish and style the house.  With three young kids (ages 5, 3, and 1) I need and want things that are resilient, easily washable yet beautiful and timeless. We purchased new furniture and curtains this summer when we moved into our apartment.  We only brought our bed and a couple of dressers from our previous house (lucky tenants didn't have to furnish much when they moved in).  The furniture is similar in color to the curtains but is not carried by Ashley Furniture anymore, although they do have some great options. For the game room upstairs that the kids will use all the time, I'm looking at Ikea for a great couch that is also a pull out bed for when we have guests over.   Sleeper with storage St...
