Morning Runs

For a good portion of last year, I was up early every week day morning for a nice run in the dark - by myself!  It was such a nice relaxing time before every one else woke up for the day.  There were days that I really had to push my self out of the door because it was dark and I wanted to sleep or it was cold (for Texas) and I wanted to stay in my warm bed but I knew that I would regret not getting out there.  I have found myself once again, forcing myself out of bed to go for those early morning runs and I am LOVING it!  This morning there was a chill in the air to remind me that fall is not far away and the morning before that there was a light rain that made it a bit more fun and slippery. So I encourage you to get out there and run.  No, it will not always be easy but I can assure you that it will give you time to think and have some quiet before you start your day.

Shades of Grey

So I started some fall shopping this last week and into the weekend.  A couple of items that I picked up were grey....I love grey.  It's a nice alternative and great addition to either black or brown. The first item I picked up was a multi colored plaid scarf - main colors = grey, and black with some yellow and green/teal. The second item I picked up in grey were some fabulous booties!  I have been searching for years for the perfect grey booties and I believe that these are absolutely perfect! I have already been thinking about all of the combinations that I can and will wear this items together and cannot wait to get started :) Black dress  | Black shirt  | Jeans  | Yellow Top  | Teal Top  | Pencil Skirt  | Scarf  | Booties   Are there any colors that you just cannot get enough of for fall?  Obviously, I have grey, yellow and teal (nice blue/green combo) but I think I may also be falling for plum...again! ...

Cooler Weather

It appears that I got my wish for cooler temps in Texas.  Even in Houston, it has been fall-like temps thanks to the rain and a nice chill in the air. I am gearing up for a shopping trip and have several items in mind.  Most of the things in mind are for work since that I is were I spend the majority of my time.  My office gets very, very cold in the "winter" months to the point that I am in need of a blanket. I have a sweater that is permanently attached to my chair if I am not wearing it :)  I am also looking at adding a nice warm scent to my office thanks to either a Glade or similar plug-in.  I have discovered that the traditional fall/warm scents have changed a bit since last year and I am having a hard time deciding which I will get.  Another item I will be adding to my office is a shrug or shawl of some variety for the times/days that I am not in sweater mode. And of course, plenty of Starbucks Via Instant Mochas and some random cooki...

Nice To See You Again

It has been much longer than I realized since my last post.  We had about a week of cool weather and rain here in the Houston, TX area and it has me longing for fall. I am dreaming of cooler temps, sweaters, hoodies, jeans, boots, pumpkins, and all of the delicious fall colors and smells. With school having started this week and preseason football in full swing it just keeps pushing summer farther and farther away.  Here are a few things that I am dreaming of for Fall 2015! 1.   2.   3.   4.   5. 6.   7.   8.   9.

Summer Time Old Navy Favorites

Although it should be warm, humid and sunny in south Texas we are currently being drenched in rain for the millionth time.  The last few weeks have been full of rain showers and thunder storms.  Every once in a while the rain will disappear for the afternoon leaving a very muggy and humid afternoon behind.  Other days, the rain makes a lovely afternoon appearance and gets heavier into the evening. With that said, it is mid-May and summer is top of mind when I'm not dreaming of being home cuddled up on the couch with a cup of coffee (read....Starbucks mocha!) :) Here are a few items that I cannot wait to add to my rotation from Old Navy. 1. Hat 2. Sleeveless tank 3. Chiffon Tank 4. Cami Fit & Flare 5. Heeled Sandals

Business Trip

So, I have a business trip coming up in exactly one month.   I will be spending almost a week in beautiful Panama for the conference. Even though I won't have any free time to explore, shop or lounge on the beach I would still like for my look to breath in the tropical atmosphere while looking business professional and flawlessly put together.  Below are some of my favorite looks.  The prices for some of the items are much higher than I would be comfortable spending but believe they would get a lot of use in my work wardrobe. 1. STUDIO Tahari-Levine Co. ,  2. Gloria Vanderbilt ,  3. Fast & Effective ,  4. Public Image ,  5. The White House ,  6. For the People For a portion of the conference I will be on stage as the moderator and feel that it is very important to look my absolute best.  At that point in time I am representing the company I work for in front of about 200 people. What are your travel trips when you h...

A new favorite

I wore an outfit to work the other day that I ended up really liking.  More than I thought I would.  It was a simple pair of black straight leg pants that hit at my ankles, a blue button up shirt (not tucked in!) and a my leopard print heels.  I kept my accessories pretty simple sticking with a nice statement necklace and my hair up in a messy bun.  It felt very appropriate for Wednesday and I am excited to wear the mix again.  Here are some similar pieces. Necklace , shirt , pants , leopard heels (left) , leopard heels (right)
