Upcoming Trip

So in just about 2 months exactly I will be in Berlin Germany for a work trip!  I am super excited about getting to travel and am really looking forward to putting together some great outfits for the trip.

The flight is going to be about 13 hours total, so comfortable attire there and back is also a huge must.  My flight was only 4 hours to Panama so my attire was a maxi skirt, short sleeve shirt, jean jacket and knock-off Toms that are some of the most comfortable shoes I own.

There is never much down time so all of my attire has to be business casual or business professional.  Last year, I went to Panama City, Panama so I can't take the same outfits since the climates are drastically different.

So over the next few week, I will be sharing ideas I have for what I will wear for the conference.  And what items I will be adding to my wardrobe :)

I am really hoping that I will have a bit of time to run with a co-worker so that we can see some of the sights - when in Panama we went for a walk that ended up taking 2 hours and covered several miles that we never would have seen - hello Panama Bay at night!  So gorgeous!  If you do go to Panama, I can't recommend Capital Bistro enough - the food is delicious and really fresh.

If you have been to Berlin Germany, what are some places to that I must see, eat at, etc?!!

Finished Chalkboard

So I am delayed in getting this posted but the chalkboard was a huge success and the kids were thrilled!  They have played on it a lot and have even invited their friends over to color on the chalkboard with them. So after I applied the layers of chalkboard paint and let them dry, I took a piece of chalk and laid it on its side and "colored" the chalkboard with it.  You are doing this according to the directions to help prime the surface for use. After you color it and let it chill, you then take a damp rag and wipe it off.  Sounds easy enough, right?  Well, it is!  I was nervous about  it not working because I may have some how missed a step along the way...I even googled the directions just in case!! I also added a really cute and perfectly, imperfect burlap boarder to the chalkboard.  I had initially planned out creating a wood boarder for it and painting it to match the colors from the playroom pillows but ultimately decided against it...

Summer Time Old Navy Favorites

Although it should be warm, humid and sunny in south Texas we are currently being drenched in rain for the millionth time.  The last few weeks have been full of rain showers and thunder storms.  Every once in a while the rain will disappear for the afternoon leaving a very muggy and humid afternoon behind.  Other days, the rain makes a lovely afternoon appearance and gets heavier into the evening. With that said, it is mid-May and summer is top of mind when I'm not dreaming of being home cuddled up on the couch with a cup of coffee (read....Starbucks mocha!) :) Here are a few items that I cannot wait to add to my rotation from Old Navy. 1. Hat 2. Sleeveless tank 3. Chiffon Tank 4. Cami Fit & Flare 5. Heeled Sandals

Favorite Combo's

I have a couple of color combinations that I love together and was recently reminded of one that I don't wear all that often - beige, black, dark pink/fuchsia and blue/teal for an extra pop of color. I was a little lost on what I was going to wear to work the other day because nothing seemed appealing that was clean.  I had to literally force myself to just throw something on and when I did, I was in love!  And I love when that happens on those terrible mornings. Cardigan , Button-Up , Shoes , Skirt Here is an example of a similar outfit that I wore this week with the colors that I mentioned.  All items are similar to the brand and price point that I was at for all items purchased.  In addition to making a great outfit when put together, they also are wardrobe staples that can help you create many, many outfits with items already in your closet. I hope that y'all have a great weekend!
